Excursions from island Rab

Island Rab is a great location for many day-excursions in the surrounding areas. 

We can offer either a sheduled group trips by boat or bus, or individual tailor made excursions for small groups of 8 or 12-16 people.
Price on request depending on the group size. 

BOAT EXCURSIONS:
1. ISLAND LOŠINJ by boat - sheduledEasy boat trip ( 09:30- 18:00) to the island of Lošinj, visiting Veli & Mali Losinj.
Lošinj is the well known sport and fishing centre of the Adriatic. Island is covered in dense coniferous woods with many haven beaches and coves. In the island aquatorium was discovered Apoxyomenos: an athlete bronze statue from 1-2 BC. Special attraction of Mali Lošinj are certailny the dolphins which inhabit the sea between Rab and Losinj and contribute to an unforgettable atmosphere. There is also a Dolphin educational centre for the young and old.
Route: RAB - by islets DOLFIN, TRSTENIK and PUNTA KRIZA to island Cres; CRESU town and VELI LOŠINJ ( visit, swimming in bays ROVENSKA or BALDARKE, Lunch on Board )- islets ORUDA - PALACOL ( swimming in open sea, sandy beach 2m deep)- port RAB.

2. ISLAND PAG - town NOVALJA by boat, sheduled

Novalja is a town in the north of the island of Pag .Although this fishermans and shepards village exists since illyrian times, Novalja became famous in recent times because of the Zrce Beach, which is one of the biggest summer party zones in Europe.
Route:
RAB- town NOVALJA ( visit, swimming, lunch an board )- small fishing village JAKISNICA ( swimming and Pag cheese tasting )- port RAB. Departure: 09:30 Return: 17:00

3. OLIVE GARDENS OF LUN - RAB harbour - sail bellow the town walls and then to small fishing village Tovarnele, time for Lun Olive garden sightseeing, swimming - port RAB.  Olive gardens of Lun are one of the 3 world sights of native wild olive trees over 1.500yrs old. Botanic reserve, fantastic nature sight. Departure: 10:00 Return: 17:00

4. OPATIJA and KASTAV -tailor made only

Visit this fashonable seaside town bellow the Uska mountain. Opatija was once the main riviera of the austrian imperial family who used to spend here several months during winter. Town is a perl of neoclassicism resort architecture and has neat gardens. Beginning of the 20th ct. it was a popular destination for many nobleman, upper middle class and artists. There is also a 12 km-long promenade along the entire riviera.

Kastav is a small historical town, located about 5 km northeast of Opatija on a hill 378 meters above sea level with stunning views on the Kvarner bay , islands and Ucka mountain. The historic walled town contains a church dating from the 13th century and is known after its old statutes. Kastav has excellent winemakers as well as the outstanding restaurants in the old town and its surroundings.

Route: RAB start 08:00 - drive to Novi Vinodolski ( break) - OPATIJA ( Sightseeing around Opatija with accent on gardens and villas) - KASTAV ( sightseeing) - return to RAB 20:00h.


5. NP NORD VELEBIT - tailor made onlyThis National park covers 109 km² of the northern section of the Velebit mountain, the largest mountain in Croatia. It is known after the abundant variety of plants and animal life and the stunning beauty of this part of the Velebit range. The Park is criss-crossed with numerous mountaineering trails, we visit mountain home Zavizan with the botanical gardens and the Premužić's Trail built it in late 1933. Our route runs through the most beautiful and most interesting parts of the park. From the numerous peaks in the surroundings there are magnificent views of the Adriatic Sea and the islands (Pag, Rab, Goli otok, Prvić and Krk) as well as of the continental side.
Departure from Rab ( Bus station) at 07:20 h, from Lopar or Suha Punta at 07:00 h.
Bus drive via Jablanac, Sv. Juraj to Zavizan. Sightseeing of the botanical garden and the Premuzic trekking path. Return to Rab in the evening hours.



6. NP PAKLENICA - tailor made only

NP Paklenica is a karst river canyon only 50km south of island Rab. It is located in Starigrad at the southern slopes of Velebit mountain and has two canyons: Mala (Small) and Velika (Big) Paklenica. NP Paklenica is the most visited climbing site in Croatia, and the largest in Southeast Europe. The Park area contains 150–200 km of trails and paths. We visit Velika Paklenica canyon; 14 km long and 500–800 m wide, with vertical cliffs, leading to Manita peć cave or Lugarnica forest cottage and the mountain hut.

Departure from Rab ( Bus station) at 07:20 h, from Lopar or Suha Punta at 07:00 h.
Bus drive via Jablanac, Karlobag to NP Paklenica. Sightseeing of the canyon and visit to the grotte Manita pec. Return to Rab in the evening hours
